Computer Based Training Development

Computer Based Training (CBT) is often used by the government at the cost of millions in development. There are many Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software programs that can be used to develop CBT. I suggest the government in every branch procure this inexpensive software and develop its own process driven training programs that will run on any government computer that has Flash loaded. Programs like Adobe Captivate are very useful in this type of training environment and are very user friendly. Training for the use of the software could be available in any number of government training sites and made available to any employee that is in charge of training his or her peers in any agency. This could potentially save many millions of dollars spent in contracting large training companies to develop local CBT and would give total control of the development to the organization that needs the CBT for its employees.
