Make Medicare OPTIONAL at age 65

Eliminate the mandatory requirement for everyone to have Medicare Benefits at age 65; this benefit should be optional for everyone age 65 and older. Not everyone wants Medicare Benefits and some/if not many would prefer continuing their retirement health insurance for themselves and their spouses as their primary health insurance. Currently at age 65 Medicare becomes the prime and benefits which individuals have been paying into for years become second. Allowing Medicare to set the standard for what is covered for all Americans 65 and older and for how much. If Medicare became optional, it would reduce the overall cost for Medicare.
