Merge Departments to save money

For better or worse, there is growing pressure to make the government smaller. One way to do this is to combine several Departments that logically fit together. By doing this, duplication, redundancy, and administrative costs can be reduced without significantly reducing services. For example, HHS, Education, VA, adn Interior can be combined into one large Department. Another Super Department would combine Agriculture, Energy (except nuclear security), Labor, Transportation, and HUD under the Commerce Department. Nuclear security would go to Defense, which, of course, would remain a single Department. DHS, Justice, State, and Treasury would also remain single Departments. By slowly integrating these Departments, redundancies and duplicate programs can be combined.
