Personal lighting would be a huge money saver if it were implemented in all Federal Agencies. The idea is that instead of lighting an entire space, you simply light a desk or workspace.
This solution would work well in personal offices as well as in a cubicle setting. Instead of installing overhead lights to light an entire room, overhead lighting would only be needed in corridors, first impression space, and walkways. Lighting would be set up at individual desks to allow the user to control their personal light settings.
Additionally, when the desk is unoccupied, zero power is being wasted on that user. If LED lights were used at all work stations, the overall lighting costs to a building could literally be reduced 80-90%.
