Put desktops to sleep or Hibernation when not in use.

Many areas are forced to leave there computer turned on for patching, backups and other maintenance reasons. Everyone knows it’s a waste of electricity but this maintenance that needs to be done and nobody wants to be slowed down during the day. If we were to require that all the systems have Wake-on-LAN enabled these systems could be put in a low power mode when not in use, and then "awakened" for all the needed maintenance and backups we could really make a difference in expenses. People make a big deal over leaving on the lights, but most florescent lights only use a few watts, whereas the average PC is around 500 watts!
