Enforce a policy that limits the number of staff accompanying political appointess while traveling. In the past year I have witnessed, on multiple occasions, agency/department heads traveling with as many as 10 staff to locations where agency personnel are located. It is unnecessarily expensive and insulting to those of us located in these 'non-headquarters' locations because it demonstrates a lack of trust that we can provide the staff support these senior officials require. There is no need for more than one staff person to accompany political appointeess, with the exception of security personnel which is rarely the case, i.e., only the POTUS and Vice should require security personnel.
