The Federal Government and its employees could save hundreds of dollars each month if there was a 2-Party health care plan option offered, not just a Family plan. I was a single parent for 15 years (just recently married) and all other employment before working for the Government offered 2-Party plans. My insurance premium more than doubled (nearly tripled) going to a Family plan. Besides single parents, there are a lot of employees that are empty nesters or may have no children, in which a 2-Party plan would be ideal for them also. This could save the Government and its employees hundreds or even thousands of dollars a year (depending on the health care option), so I think this should be strongly considered.
