Use DTS to secure better prices for flights

Modify DTS to eliminate Dulles International Airport (IAD) as the default termination for flights into Washington DC area. Fares for flights into Dulles are typically 3 to 4 times higher than similar flights into Ronald Reagan National (DCA) or Baltimore-Washington International (BWI). Flights into Dulles could be offered by DTS as alternates, but traveler would have to justify additional expense to Approving Official. DTS could be configured to show the AO both prices so that those not aware of the difference would be informed automatically. If fares into Dulles drop down to a competitive level, the default could be restored.

Similar adjustments to DTS defaults can be used to foster competition in other metropolitan areas where gross differences exist between airfares offered.
