Recovering Old Contract Monies

The Federal Government has numerous contracts that when the tasks are completed often have money left over. These dollars are either uncosted or unobligated. This money needs to be sent back to the treasury instead of sitting, sometimes for years, on the ledgers. Recovering this money can add up to tens of millions in one agency alone. If these monies are collected from the entire Executive Branch the return could be sizeable.
