I suggest that SSA create electronic listings available to employees and management to monitor disability medical cessation cases that are pending -- such data is not currently available. If this suggestion were implemented, SSA could avoid the unnecessary accumulation of potentially incorrect "continuing" payments being made to individuals appealing their initial benefit cessation decision. The savings of incorrect payments would be substantial by ensuring 1) DDS medical cessation appeal decisions were made timely and 2) FO actions to actually stop benefits as decided by DDS/ODAR were also made timely. Because such listings are not currently readily available to SSA and DDS employees, this workload is difficult to control, resulting in unnecessary erroneous payments to individuals.
