Do not allow Sick Leave to be used until after 24 hours of Annual Leave have been used.
Stop matching federal civilian employees TSP. You don't for the military's TSP.
I suggest you REQUIRE ALL federal agencies to submit printing jobs to the US Government Printing Office thereby saving a great deal of money, time and resources sending print jobs to outsourced contractors such as Kinkos/FedEx.
The average federal worker's pay is $71,206, compared with $40,331 in the private sector. http://www.usatoday.com/printedition/news/20091211/1afedpay11_st.art.htm?loc=interstitialskip It used to be that a government job paid a little less but you got more security in exchange. Now government employees get the best of both worlds and the people who have to worry about their jobs get the bill. This is morally wrong... more »
There are some 14,000,000 illegal immigrants in the US and more will continue crossing the US border. The US must talk other governments to stop illegal crossing by means of agreement. The US would impose a charge for the cost to apprehend, keep in jail and deport plus 35% overhead on the country of origen of the illegal immigrant. The US is spending millions of dollars in manpower patrolling borders, keeping people in... more »
All US government employees be charged annual forced leave of 3 days whether or not it is used, the 3 days will be
deducted from them.
Remove all staples and staplers from federal use, and replace them with a "non-staple" alternatives. Due to the increase of PII, more and more documents must be shredded. Since most or all documents are stapled, these must be removed prior to shredding, increasing non-productive workhours. Additionally, the use of staples also increases possible damage to expensive shredding equipment.
I humbly suggest that the US Congress farm out the US Budget to an US Accounting Firm in which wrong doing can be prosecuted in US Federal Courts.
1. reduce holidays for fed employees. none of my private sector friends get columbus day off but yet they are paying through their taxes for our extra days off. 2. Place a freeze on all fed govt salaries until we balance the budget. 3. federal govt employees are over paid as compared to their private sector counter parts. No one ever leaves fed service. we have little or no turnover. 4. only irs employees are subject... more »
I love outer space issues rockets and all but we need the money to stay here and fix our roads, our schools, our systems. Let's not stop completely, just slow down going to Mars, etc. It won't help us. We eat altered foods, drink altered water, breath contaminated air. What good is it for 3 people to go to Mars and come back?
In an effort to SAVE MONEY, ALL government employees should be required to use frequent flyer miles and hotel points to "purchase" government travel accommodations, when the miles and hotel points credits are earned during government travel. Currently, when you travel and earn frequent flyer miles and hotel points, you cannot use the earned points for future government travel. Therefore, I am suggesting that you not... more »
Make extended unemployment benefits be based on household income. There are people out there that receive unemployment benefits where his/her spouse still works and makes enough to support the household. The first six months are an earned benefit that should be paid, but after that there needs to be a need based on income.
For 2020 Census do the following: Have people go to a location (liking a polling place) and complete the questionnaire. Once completed they get a card (similar to a drivers license with a picture) which they need to safekeep. This card can be use as identification when requesting benefits from the government. Loss the card, then you pay for the card. People who need benefits must be able to provide this card as proof... more »
The US Coast Guard is not unlike any other multi-function agency. They have defense, safety, emergency response, and mission support assets just like ICE, CBP, or FBI. Converting to a civilian government office (which would still be smaller than the NYPD), you could save in travel/relocation costs, retirement, and myriad other costs associated with outfitting an armed force.
Lower per diem rates and you will see less people traveling. Most people travel to collect the per diem especially when they stay at hotels that offer breakfast and happy hour food.
OK. All you travelers may now disagree.
