Electronic Filing in the District Courts

Electronic filing in the federal district court system is a great idea but not as efficient as it could be. Currently, the courts generally require a party e-filing a document to provide a paper copy of the document to the judge assigned to the case no later than noon of the following day. My agency e-files documents in district courts located in several states. Providing the paper copy to the court by noon of the... more »

Pacer Court Filing System Savings

I suggest you look into working out a deal with Pacer Court document service because.... Pacer is a Sole Provider contract and the only reason this company makes a dime is because the government pretty much requires attorneys to use the service for filing, docketing and tracking cases. Pacer makes money because so many companies including law firms, credit and mortgage companies, petition preparers and such must have... more »

Putting America Back to Work with Its Own Natural Resources (One Generation's Waste is Another Generation's Treasure)

Build a Water Pipe Line (WPL). If the government would build a water pipe line from the border of US and Canada "north" to the border of US and Mexico "south," it would create: (1) endless amounts of jobs, (2) an ongoing amount of clean energy, (3) a clean and endless water supply for households, businesses, farmers, ranchers, and animals, and (4) can be used as the most powerful firehose in the world, which would... more »

Declare Electronic Media Legal

Stop sending paper documents to the Federal Records Center for retention. Instead, certify the validity of the electonic documents from which such hardcopy was printed, and electronically transmit these versions to a secure backup facility. This facilitates access/recovery, improves security, and saves millions in the handling and storage of paper.

Why are we wasting all this money enforcing laws in of the US that our elected officials do not want enforced?

Why are we wasting all this money enforcing laws in of the US that our elected officials do not want enforced? The elected and appointed officials of the US do not think it is necessary for the US Immigration laws to be enforced. By abolishing ICE, CBP and BP the government will save a large sum of money. The officers and agents could be reassigned, as needed, to various Ports of Entry (POE) to process the newly... more »

Work Place Efficiency

There is a concept called "Hotelling" where employees telework and save their company on office space by sharing the same desk. There are several areas within the Government where this concept could be utilized. The benefits are far reaching; fewer commuters on the highway, reduced office costs, increased quality of life, etc.

Asset Forfeiture Fund

I believe that the government should access the funds in the asset forfeiture fund to pay off the national debt. Also, to allocate other funds from the asset forfeiture fund for other uses besides law enforcement.

Conduct Court of Appeals Arguments by Video Conference

I suggest you...Conduct more Court of Appeals arguments by video conference, particularly in a substantial number of criminal and prisoner litigation cases involving government attorneys or private attorneys paid by the government. This would greatly reduce the funds spent on government travel. It also would increase productivty by reducing commute time for oral arguments. The Tenth Circuit has adopted a similar practice... more »

Allow government employees to act as their own travel agents and allow them to book, and pay for services, like any other individual seeking services off of discounted websites or other commonly utilized travel websites without contracts, or rates, but rather paying fair market value for services, including applicable state and local taxes, but waving restrictions on places to stay and on onerous GSA rules on maximum... more »

Let Agencies Defend Their Own EEO Cases

U. S. Attornys should have the option to refuse to defend federal agencies in individual EEO cases. When a federal employee brings an EEO complaint against a federal agency, the local U. S. Attorney must defend the agency. In cases where the Agency may very well have discriminated or retaliated, it can still require the U. S. Attorney to defend it. These lengthy legal battles cost the agency (specifically the U. S.... more »

End the death penalty

Stop using the death penalty. It doesn't work as a a deterrent and the cost of litigating post-conviction cases is far more than the cost of incarceration.
