Since my college days I have been told that there would be a massive workforce retiring soon. Same thing in my career with the gov't. and haven't seen anything yet. Moving the retirement age down by 5 years would move a lot of people out of the workforce and bring in more younger vibrant workforce. This would inject new ideas and also jumpstart the economy.
I suggest that civilian hiring for priority placement be used first and only once for filling positions without advertising a job vacancy. OPM and HR divisions waste enormous hours using a bureaucratic method that gives false hope to potential employees. eg. GS civil service USAF job is vacant, management goes to HR to fill, priority placement is looked into and not filled, position is opened up for external hiring, ...more »
Reduce labor costs at various agencies by filling temporary work assigments with appropriate skilled non alimony paying individuals that are unemployed. Not with the intent of punishment but to provide employment for unemployed, government job completed at a reduced cost with temporary help, & alimony income provided to the dependents in need. Identify jobs/work tasks that fall into this category
