Stop using paper SOJTs.

I work in a training office and we are generating a lot of paper waste by still using SOJT (Stuctured On the Job Training). I believe if we moved forward and used digital forms we could stop using so much paper not to mention the filing and storage of so much paper. Quite a bit of the SOJTs that we do are recurring generating still more waste when we could go digital. We already have a digital signature set up for employees ...more »

Goverment Agencies--too many departments--layering

Reduce departmentalization. This isn't the 1800's when it took 2 weeks to get from east to west coasts. Antiquated layering of bureacracy wastes taxes. The people want a military, give them one military not four. The people need overseas interstes tended give them the CIA, they need stateside interests give them the FBI...period. Mission Creep has hit every single agency. We have DEA doing CIA stuff, Homeland Security ...more »

Reduce Paper Waste by Using Dual Sided Paper Printing

My suggestion is to set up the printers to print dual sided. I know it is not as probable to go to a paperless system but we can reduce the amount of paper we use just by printing on both sides of the page and it would cut our paper consumption down by half. Instead of printing out a 50 page document, why not print out a 25 page document front and back??

Mandatory Telework Day

I suggest Federal workers be required to telework one day a week to the greatest extent possible. This would reduce the price of the comforts needed in an office environment, i.e utility services, (power, water, gas) paper products etc. This would save the environment, and other sources of energy, i.e. gasoline. Everryone would have the same telework day and the office would not be used as the workplace for that one ...more »

OPA verses OMA for MHE, NTV Leases.

Current funding for LOGCAP contracts requires the use of Leases for MHE and NTVs as they can not be purchased using O&M funds. Currently the government is spending millions on leases when they should be purchases. The amount of a lease is typically the cost for a vehicle based on a years lease. $3000 a month for a 3 year old Toyota Pick up as an example. We do not have OPA funds to purchase and it takes entirely too long ...more »

Time and money savings

On the memo to file for CCR, Cage code, Excluded parties list and non conformance and Certifications and Representations, modify the internal agency form to include the websites, would save buyers time searching for a link not always required such as Certifications and Representations and would help new buyers have the information at their fingertips!

Simplifying Selective Service

If Selective Service registration is to be required for those to obtain Federal benefits, including eligibility for Federal Employment, then can we simplify the process for those that must register or receive a waiver to get such benefits? Currently, you have to know that you must register between the ages of 18 and 26, but there are a variety of exceptions to this rule. If you did not register (unknowingly or unwillingly) ...more »
