Relook at the benefits veterans recieve who are employable versus the same veterans with the same time in service with no disability. Recieve a disability rating and receive various benefits while no disability you recieve nothing. All veterans should be treated the same if the retired.
Job opportunities should firstly be offered inside the mission. It would show more respect and prestige for our employees. Also save money from puting adds in the newspapers.
EEOC form 564, "OFFICIAL TDY TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION" is a simple form to complete once one knows what numbers go where. I was unable to find adequate instruction for completing the form, so it ended up taking me much more time to complete it and submit it than it should have taken. District and Field Offices of the EEOC are in an enviable position when it comes to the release of its investigative files under the FOIA; Title VII prohibits the release to persons not named in the Charge of Discrimination. Change the hiring system so Veterans do not jump ahead of others applying for a position automatically. This is not Equal Employment Opportunity. You have individuals that have no educational experience in the field of work related to the position, but due to the fact that they are a Veteran, they get preferential treatment. I suggest you get rid of the time in grade requirements under OPM. The federal government has a wealth of talent and knowledge that is unable to be accessed to fill positions because of the time in grade restrictions. Eliminating this restriction would cut down on hiring and training costs as well as increase employee morale.
Reduce the number of invalid, inappropriate, and/or frivolous EEO claims by charging a small fee ($25?) to the complainant, up front, just to submit the claim. If the claim is found to be justified and appropriate, then that money would be refunded to the claimant at that time. When U.S. anti-discrimination laws are broken by Agency administrative personnel, the costs to the agency would be significantly lower if handled rapidly, since most victimized employees would probably settle for a simple acknowledgment of their complaint together with correction of the problem. Save money on travel by booking directly with airline company rather than through government travel system, which invariably costs significantly more. In addition, instead of automatically reimbursing travelers per diem for meals, reimburse travelers only for what they actually spend on meals, up to the per diem amount.
