Limit all the PCS money

What about limiting all the PCS money that is spent moving officers every two years? They get huge allowances for goods and moving is not a cheap deal. Make them serve 4 years at every duty station. Why move them every two years?

DoD a leader for Water Conservation efforts

The Department of Defense should lead water conservation efforts by implementing water collection methods and recycling on its facilities, ships, etc...For example ships undergo inclement weather at sea instead of allowing rain to go down the rain, a collection method or apparatus should be installed to redirect or harness this wasted blessing.

Consolidate local military recruiters into one civilian position

My innovation is to change the military recruitment process by having civilian recruiters. Personnel: One GS-11/12 could replace five E-5/6’s. There is savings in personnel costs and those uniformed individuals can rejoin their unit and ease some of the combat rotations. Marketing: Currently, millions of tax dollars are spent by each branch in competition with the other. The Army gets a rock climbing wall; the Marines ...more »

Many law enforcement agencies and departments across the country require vehicles to sit at idle for significant periods of time (4-8 hours) during the course of a work day. This idle time is necessary due to hostile environmental conditions (extreme heat or cold) or other operational requirements. Currently, anti idle technologies exist that allow interior enforcement ...more »

Military Blister Prevention: Simple & Enormous Cost Savings Realized

Prevent blisters in our military members by implementing existing foot scanners/boot sizing technology at Military Clothing and Sales stores and issuing (existing) synthetic socks with advanced wicking technology. Blister treatment for military recruits exceeds $690,000 annually. This idea is simple and would save our government hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.

fuel cost

Most bases have a bus system for soldiers and civilians, but diesel isn't cheap. The dfacs and other restaurants on post have used grease just sitting around. Why not put it to good use? This could be extended to hummers and possibly construction equipment as well.
