UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRATION SOLUTION: SELF FUNDED DETERRENT PREVENTING THE HIRING OF UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS

I suggest a new type of proactive solution in the form of an enforcement system to deter the hiring of undocumented workers (illegal aliens, deportable/inadmissible aliens) through self funded economic incentives (monetary rewards) generated by fines. It will encourage the public to report violators and discourage employers from hiring undocumented workers. A percentage of the fines levied on employers of undocumented ...more »

Green Lighting

I suggest that all new government buildings be constructed utilizing "daylighting" technology in place of flourescent lighting where practical. "Daylighting" refers to the use of products ranging from skylights to polycarbonate glass substitutes. These products spread light efficiently throughout the day while blocking UV rays. This would significantly cut energy consumption during daylight hours while encouraging ...more »

Executive Office of the President

Expand the hours for public access to all governmental services while more people need us the most.

Hire more temporary workers to meet this need. It will create jobs while expediting the delivery of needed government services to the most vulnerable members of our population. Additionally, job-sharing, or 10-hour work days can also help fill the positions needed to get this done.

In the long run, it will save the government money.

The suggestion is for participants who recieve unemployment benefits; after a reasonble 6 weeks of benefits, in order to continue thier unemployment benefits, the recipient will provide 20-30 hours per week in community service to non-profits, city and state programs. Quicker Death Penalty

If a criminal is sentenced to death by way of jury and beyond any reasonable doubt, I suggest they put the criminal to death within one week.

This will seriously cut costs in feeding and housing the enemy to freedom. It will also put the criminal out of their misery much sooner than have them sitting in prison for years.

Educate prisoners so they can find jobs when released

Prisoners that are incarcerated over a year should be educated with technical training programs or if incarcerated longer receive higher education so they can obtain viable jobs when released. Some are incarcerated for 5 - 10 years and when released have no hope for work. We need fewer people in low paying jobs.

Encourage managers throughout DHS to offer more rotational and detail opportunities to backfill for vacancies.

Encourage managers throughout DHS to offer more rotational and detail opportunities, even across components, to temporarily backfill for vacancies or to fulfill short term staffing needs. Not only is this an outstanding learning opportunity for all parties involved but it also improves efficiency by temporarily reallocating resources we're already paying for to meet staffing needs. I've seen announcements posted on ...more »

This is related to the majority of temporary disaster assistance employees who are hired at the onset of a disaster and are laid off when the work load decreases. I recommend these experienced temporary employees are offered to downgrade to a temporary "part-time" status. This will allow the agency to retain more experienced employees for the next disaster. Also, these employees will be allowed handle the majority ...more »

Solar/Wind energy generators on top of all Fed buildings

Cover all Federal building rooftops with solar panels and small wind turbines. These would largely be out of sight and would help to reduce the huge energy costs for day to day operations in most of these buildings. In addition, it would establish us as a leader in this technology, create much needed jobs, make us a greener entity as a whole, and lessen our dependence on foreign oil. This would be a great step in the ...more »
