STANDARDAZATION OF THE VA DISABLILTY AND COMPENSIATION PROCESS

I found through other retired veterans that the process, response time and the amount given for the SAME “disability varies by state and V.A. hospital. I.E. Texas Vet get 70% for a knee injury but a Kansas Vet gets 10%? A Florida Vets gets 50% for sleep Apnea but an Oklahoma Vet gets 0%? A California vet gets 20% for hypertension and a Virginia vet gets 0%? This money is being spent wrong and the vets who need it for ...more »

Reduce Paper Usage, Save $1B+

Having worked with multi-agencies over the last 3 yrs, I came to realize that US Govt uses more paper than anyone else in the nation. We use paper, ink, printers, and faxes which probably amount to quarter billion dollars alone annually, when taken in amount the cost of items, human hours put in to turn the paper in electronic data, (and when not needed anymore), to file, to recycle/shred, and garbage disposal etc it ...more »

UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRATION SOLUTION: SELF FUNDED DETERRENT PREVENTING THE HIRING OF UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS

I suggest a new type of proactive solution in the form of an enforcement system to deter the hiring of undocumented workers (illegal aliens, deportable/inadmissible aliens) through self funded economic incentives (monetary rewards) generated by fines. It will encourage the public to report violators and discourage employers from hiring undocumented workers. A percentage of the fines levied on employers of undocumented ...more »

Passports and Green Cards (Go electronic w/these security updates)

I realize the “make a suggestion” contest phase is over; but this idea is AMAZING. I am suggesting that in every passport issued by the United States, and our allies, be equipped with a locator (similar to the tracker embedded in pets by the human society) woven into the electronic verification information (like the CAC card chip); that will contain all of the individuals pertinent information to include the picture ...more »

Replace Cash

Printing money is expensive. We could save money with an automated system. I propose we show our patriotism by getting an American flag tattooed onto our hand – or some patriotic Americans can have it on their forehead. The flag will be specially coded with a small bar code under it that is unique for every citizen. A database will keep track of each person’s accounts. To enforce this system, cash will become void ...more »

Centralized Document Database

Have a Branch Wide Centralized System where all Documents are held, on both the classified and unclassified systems. This would reduce the man hours trying to figure out what document is the most up to date and applicable. Each branch should have their own database and all members of that branch should be able to access it. Open and free communication will save us all time and money.

CONDITIONAL RESIDENT CARDS. A TRUE SOLUTION TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

There are not 100 illegal immigrants in the USA….. There are thousands. A CONDITIONAL RESIDENT CARD should be given to immigrants who DO NOT have a criminal record for murder, rape, DUI, or domestic violence. Those illegal immigrants who, at any point in their stay in the US, committed those crimes, should get DEPORTED to their country of origin right away. Illegal immigrants should pay a fine of $2,000 to $6,000 if ...more »

Improve Hiring Process

I think the goverment could save considerable money by modifiying their hiring process. They could negotiate a salary and make a job offer up front and upon acceptance of the job offer they could proceed instead of completing many costly efforts before knowing if the potential employee will even accept their offer. Some of those costly efforts are: going through the costly and time-consuming clearance process until an ...more »

Default Typeset

Change all default typeset to Century Gothic, which saves 30% more ink than Arial. This would result in millions of dollars in savings for the government, with a very simple change.
