GSA Fleet Sharing and Accountability Could Save $6Billion and Environment

GSA has about 212,000 vehicles in its fleet divided among 75 federal agencies. Most of these vehicles are assigned to individuals ie. one vehicle one man. Last year alone, GSA spent $287 Million to buy 17, 205 new vehicles to its fleet bringing the new number to about 220, 205 vehicles. Each vehicle than requires insurance, gas, toll expenses, parking fees in some instances, violations etc etc. Lest not forget most of ...more »

UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRATION SOLUTION: SELF FUNDED DETERRENT PREVENTING THE HIRING OF UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS

I suggest a new type of proactive solution in the form of an enforcement system to deter the hiring of undocumented workers (illegal aliens, deportable/inadmissible aliens) through self funded economic incentives (monetary rewards) generated by fines. It will encourage the public to report violators and discourage employers from hiring undocumented workers. A percentage of the fines levied on employers of undocumented ...more »

Replace Cash

Printing money is expensive. We could save money with an automated system. I propose we show our patriotism by getting an American flag tattooed onto our hand – or some patriotic Americans can have it on their forehead. The flag will be specially coded with a small bar code under it that is unique for every citizen. A database will keep track of each person’s accounts. To enforce this system, cash will become void ...more »

Incentivize DoD to Discontinue Year End Fiscal Spending Sprees (via MWR Percentage Return)

Issue: DoD year end fiscal spending in order to secure the same size budget for subsequent years is wasteful, but institutionally (if not legally) encouraged through a significant portion of the DoD. Solution: Deal with the issue at the Congressional level and force a revamp of the laws and regulations which govern this. Being a simple guy, here is a simple solution: Reward excellence and proper stewardship! Structure ...more »

Operate the Federal Health Insurance system like a contract.

Instead of having so many choices in the Federal Health Insurance program, issue a 5 year contract (Base year and 4 option years). Select the top 5 providers based on price and benefits (including Dental coverage), each year the providers would be rated by the federal employees which have selected that specific provider, any provider receiving an unacceptable rating would not have their option renewed and a new provider ...more »

USG Paternity Leave Bank.

Provide all federal employees the option to join a government-wide Paternity Leave Bank and withdraw up to 160 hours of paternity leave to care for a newborn or adopted baby/child. This will enable the federal government to provide paternity leave to its employees with limited additional overall cost. -All members of the bank would deposit four hours of annual leave annually for at least five years as a requirement for ...more »

Exit Interviews for those who Retire, Resign, or Transfer Agencies

OPM or OMB or some regulating entity should enforce that exit interviews occur. Where there are significant amounts of highly qualified employees bailing from certain parts of an agency then someone should be looking into the situation, particularly when it is occurring at an agency which is at/near the bottom of the list of happy employees with good morale. I know of several people who have retired because of stupid ...more »

Quicker Death Penalty

If a criminal is sentenced to death by way of jury and beyond any reasonable doubt, I suggest they put the criminal to death within one week.

This will seriously cut costs in feeding and housing the enemy to freedom. It will also put the criminal out of their misery much sooner than have them sitting in prison for years.
