Currently, everyone that makes $106,800 or less pays 6.2% on 100% of their salary in SSA tax. Everyone who makes over $106,800 pay $0 in SSA tax on 100% of their salary after the initial $106,800. I understand the affluent do not depend on SSA, but I do believe we all benefit from SSA benefits.
