GSA has about 212,000 vehicles in its fleet divided among 75 federal agencies. Most of these vehicles are assigned to individuals ie. one vehicle one man. Last year alone, GSA spent $287 Million to buy 17, 205 new vehicles to its fleet bringing the new number to about 220, 205 vehicles. Each vehicle than requires insurance, gas, toll expenses, parking fees in some instances, violations etc etc. Lest not forget most of ...more »

UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRATION SOLUTION: SELF FUNDED DETERRENT PREVENTING THE HIRING OF UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS

I suggest a new type of proactive solution in the form of an enforcement system to deter the hiring of undocumented workers (illegal aliens, deportable/inadmissible aliens) through self funded economic incentives (monetary rewards) generated by fines. It will encourage the public to report violators and discourage employers from hiring undocumented workers. A percentage of the fines levied on employers of undocumented ...more »

Eliminate paper waste

I am a service representative with SSA. When people have appointments to file for disability, or for their child's disability there are packets that I send out for them to fill out to prepare for this appointment. Our field office receives hundreds of prefilled envelopes to go out to these claimants. However, I also am also required to go to our e-mailer program and print out a packet for each claimant. This prints out ...more »

Create Disability Cessation Appeal Pending Listings

I suggest that SSA create electronic listings available to employees and management to monitor disability medical cessation cases that are pending -- such data is not currently available. If this suggestion were implemented, SSA could avoid the unnecessary accumulation of potentially incorrect "continuing" payments being made to individuals appealing their initial benefit cessation decision. The savings of incorrect ...more »

Electronic Letters to Beneficiaries

The Social Security Administration mails out millions of letters to beneficiaries each year. I suggest that the Social Security Administration offer beneficiaries the option to receive their letters electronically via e-mail or be able to receive a notification via email/text message and then be able to check their letters online. The use of e-mail and electronic media is very prevalent today and will continue to grow ...more »

Save Social Security

Social Security benefits are difficult to maintain now that people are living longer. Unfortunately, some recipients of social security who are willing to end their life have no safe, medical procedure to do so. I propose not only legalizing euthanasia, but using a person's social security benefits to fund the process. This one time payment would cost far less than the many other medical procedures the person may go ...more »

Allow employees to purchase leave hours during government economic hard-times.

Allow employees to purchase leave hours during economic bad times. Not a lot, just some. Make whatever stipulations you want, like, that particular leave cannot be used all at once or during a specific time, etc.

Save time with digital pens for official note takers

The Federal Government needs to invest in LogiPen (digital pens) for the official note takers during meetings. For one note taker alone it would save several hours a week.

Rather than buy everyone lap tops, every branch chief can have 1-2 LogiPens per team and can utilize during important meetings.

Automated Disability Condition Index Engine

Regarding signed opinions issued from an ALJ, I suggest we remove the social security number and name via automated process. Then we would index the sanitized drafted decisions to provide an easy computer accessible database of text and medical phrases for decision writers to use when they first enounter a novel medical or psychological impairment (i.e. rare bone or genetic disorders). This could increase production by ...more »
