Restructure the US Tax code and revenue collection systems

Each year millions of hours and dolalrs are spent by US citizens to complete tax forms. On the receiving end, scores of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents must accurately and go through each case and verify this complex submission. The new health care bill alone added some 30,000 IRS agents; there salary alone would be millions of dollars per year and that is just the tip of the iceberg. While it is important for ...more »

Government-wide Reuse and Disposal Initiative

I propose that a Government-wide Reuse and Disposal program be established. This would allow for quantifiable cost savings in procurement and disposal across the entire government. It would also result in a measurable reduced impact on the environment. Too often equipment that is disposed of within one agency is still useful to another. A computer that was used for high speed data analysis 3 years ago is still more than ...more »

Small changes make a Huge difference....

Each year each Federal organization implement a similiar process locally. Employees submitt ideas on a "SAVE" award that are applicable to their own department or office. I think if every organization implemented just one idea within their own office then the cost savings will be huge. People will feel like their ideas are being heard and are welcomed. Morale could improve and teamwork could be more embraced. Ideas ...more »

Bring the Troops Home

Stop spending so much of American resources on other countries. Bring the troops home. Use the soldiers to guard our borders and promote peace in North America. Start New Deal programs to gainfully employ returned soldiers. Use the manpower to reclaim deserts, clean the Gulf, educate the uneducated and manufacture American products that we would sell to world. With the monies saved and the manpower gained, we could ...more »

Parking Revenue instead of Parking Perk for Executives

Executives who have special parking privileges should pay the market rate. Taxpayers should not be paying for executive parking privileges. There parking fees should be a source of revenue instead of a tax burden.

Collect 100% of Taxes Owed

Quit giving tax breaks to people that owe back taxes. Just because they owe a lot doesn't mean they should be given an opportunity to pay less. I have to pay ALL of mine and I expect the IRS to make everyone else pay for ALL of theirs. Same with buying homes with adjustable interest rates. Quit rewarding stupid!

Save Social Security

Social Security benefits are difficult to maintain now that people are living longer. Unfortunately, some recipients of social security who are willing to end their life have no safe, medical procedure to do so. I propose not only legalizing euthanasia, but using a person's social security benefits to fund the process. This one time payment would cost far less than the many other medical procedures the person may go ...more »

Securities Market Stablization

Recommend instituting a one percent sales tax on all financial transactions, including, securities, mortgages and derivatives. This will reduce speculation in the financial markets and shift the cost of regulation to the consumers of those products.

Standardize Federal Employee Taxes

Eliminate the need for Federal employees to file tax returns each year. Standardize the amount withheld from each employee based on their pay grade, location, and family/living status. The millions of dollars not collected from delinquent employees would be eliminated as would the cost of processing tax returns each year.

Allow people who owe back taxes to work it off

Many people who owe back taxes want to get back into compliance and pay what they owe, but are not able to and fear a system that penalizes them as opposed to welcoming them back into the fold and getting them back on the tax rolls. Due to the economy and current job situation, some of them can't right a check to Uncle Sam, but are more than willing to put their skills, experiences and abililities to work for Uncle Sam ...more »
