Incentivize DoD to Discontinue Year End Fiscal Spending Sprees (via MWR Percentage Return)

Issue: DoD year end fiscal spending in order to secure the same size budget for subsequent years is wasteful, but institutionally (if not legally) encouraged through a significant portion of the DoD. Solution: Deal with the issue at the Congressional level and force a revamp of the laws and regulations which govern this. Being a simple guy, here is a simple solution: Reward excellence and proper stewardship! Structure... more »

Military Housing Assistance Program (HAP) Expansion Needed

Housing Assistance Program expansion needed in critical states to avoid foreclosure of homes for military. Amend the law to expand the period of participation in HAP to include homes bought in all of 2006 by military. Current plan limits to homes bought in 30 June 2006 and this is causing many military to face foreclosure, bankruptsy, risk their security clearnance, or even discharge early from service.

Reduce the incentive for the greed of corporate executives to prevail over the best interests of general public.

I suggest to reduce the incentive for the greed of corporate executives to prevail over the best interests of general public and stockholders. To do this I suggest that executives overseeing corporations larger than a certain size must be LICENSED by the U.S. Government to hold that job in the United States. Just as an airline pilot or even a bus driver in the U.S. has to be licensed to perform their work because they... more »

Responsible to position

I suggest no one testify in congress giving an opinion on a law they have not read.

If this is taught in law school I suggest we not hire anyone who attended, stating a legal opinon on an unknown seems quite wastefull to me. Keeping numerous high paid goverment officials occupied with possibly incorrect information wastes the combined salarys of all involved.

Federal Enforcement Agency

What: Create an enforcement department that is able to alleviate burdens of other departments from individuals who do not abide by the laws of federally funded departments. This enforcement will deal with “soft” crimes. “Hard” crimes will be assigned to designated agencies. Why: Millions of dollars and an abundant amount of time are being wasted. Departments are focuses good portions of their time dealing with customers... more »

The Federal Government Needs to Fully Exercise Its Right (In Every State) As a Tax-Exempt Entity...MILLIONS WOULD BE SAVED Just

I suggest the U.S. Government implement its right as a tax-exempt entity with every state in the United States. More often than not, Federal travelers are charged taxes by varying hotels for state taxes on room occupancy. These state taxes are imposed on the Federal Gov't in spite of presenting the hotel registeration personnel with the Federal Tax Exempt Form. Why is the Federal Government allowing States to impose... more »

We the people...

Out of all the great ideas I've read, I have not seen discussion on how much potential there would be to SAVE based on "political" aspects of our government. How about putting the power of our great nation back into the hands of "real" people as our founding fathers envisioned. Get back to making decisions based on common sense and experience! Ask the people who are affected most what they think about high level decisions... more »

Identity Theft

Enact legislation requiring any business that utilizes photocopy machines to destroy or otherwise completely remove all of the data stored on the harddrives currently installed in virtually every modern-day photocopier prior to selling or disposing of the machines. Although many manufacturers offer software aimed at completely deleting data from the internal storage devices for an additional fee, companies purchasing... more »

Review the "3-Strike" ruling

Thousands (or 10's of thousands) of people are being unnecessarily imprisoned under the 3-strike ruling. It is costing the Government and the taxpayers billions of dollars, ruining families, creating huge corporate penal institutions and putting people on the street (to commit possibly worse crimes) once they are released because they have no job. I do believe that there are "residivist" criminals, but a blanket 3 offense... more »

Focus our thoughts

limit bills to single subjects. Lets use the KISS method in passing our law. Focus on one idea and get it right. Limit the length of bills so that we all understand what we are trying to accomplish. A bill that requires 100s to 1000s of pages is not understandable. The savings in time, supplies, and editing alone will save our country millions. How could a country of intelligence allow this to happen.
