Monitor smoking breaks closely. We are only allowed two breaks per work day, some abuse this privilege. Also, a good meeting place for rumor. Suggest a survey/bulletin for precise estimate of smokers, but if only 20,000 fed employees smoke and take only 1 extra 15 min. smoke break per day (or longer than 15 mins.--do the math) that is approximately 1,200,000 man-hours wasted per year--at an average rate of only $25/hr.... ...more »
