Untether the desktop: go laptop, wireless, and port.
Replace all federal desktops with thin-edge terminals OR desk-ports for a work laptop.
Untether the workforce from cubeland (and then reduce the cubes).

I disagreeDuring instances when a federal office implements voluntary LWOP to meet pay commitments, strongly suggest (in policy) that management lead by example with at least 1 day per month for the duration of the voluntary LWOP campaign. This demonstration of good faith preserves morale, and should close the budget gap more quickly.

I disagreeBy law, the US Postal Service is in many areas of the country that otherwise have poor services. Reorganize the USPS to offer savings bank services to these communities and neighborhoods, as is done in other countries. It would offer people a direct alternative to Pay Day Loan Sharks which are a menace to our national economic recovery.

I disagreeTo fully respect the diversity of religious & cultural values that make up our great nation and its government, authorize one exchangable holiday. The taxpayer will get increased service on a common holiday such as Christmas, and no diminished service on the selected holiday of the individual's choosing. Administrative overhead to manage this should be minimal.

I disagreeOffer a budget award to the Department/Agency which achieves cost-saving EO13514 targets ahead of schedule.

I disagreeEven better than an efficient electric light is making best use of real daylight. Clerestory windows, glass brick, and Solatubes are just some of the ways we can bring light inside without electricity.

I disagreeEliminate vending machines. They draw electricity, take up room, increase heat inside a subsequently cooled office space, and usually sell unhealthy products when federal employees could walk further and buy locally.
Replace with full kitchenettes and/or preferential policy for on site vendors (periodically re-competed, say every 2 years) who offer local healthy produce.

I disagreeSince our 50 States span 6 times zones, peg conference calls to optimal Pacific or Mountain Time business hours. This removes the root cause of excessive congestion on highways on the East Coast, and the inefficiency of next-day responses (at their ideal soonest) across national discussions.

I disagreeHire goatherders with temporary fences for groundskeeping instead of conventional mowers & blowers.

I disagreeOffer a one-time generous "golden handshake" for early retirements, then cut those retired vacancies by 20%. This will force instutional restructuring across federal government.

I disagreeChange travel policy to promote and streamline bicycle rentals while on travel. Spur the market for short-term bicycle rentals nationally. A bicycle usually costs less than a car rental, on hourly or daily rates.

I disagreeMaximize bicycling options: all urban & contained campus/base perimeter federal offices should have bicycles/bikeshare pods for employee use. Include appropriate changing/showering facilities to bring down costs of even the Transit Subsidy.
