American tradition of competition will reduce spending

Ever try getting something accomplished using GSA?? Talk about a waste of taxpayer's money. If I was building a home, it would cost me twice as much in time and materials. I suggest Government agencies be allowed to find the best prices on supplies and labor and use them without all the red tape that currently exists. There might have been a time when GSA saved the government money, but that day has passed. Not only do goods cost more, but in some cases GSA only permits the use of items that past their prime. For example electrical outlets - in a computerized world, who uses anything less than 3-prong outlets? It's time to allow the American tradition of competition rule the day so the government can truly save a dime.
