HEALTH CARE PLAN SAVINGS AND INCENTIVES

I suggest a type of proactive incentivised system for health care that would operate in conjunction with the recently passed Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (Pub.L. 111-152).

Incentives (monetary rewards) -for individuals in the private / public plans who not only get annual check-ups but follow their proimary care doectors generals advise and also follow the advise and care of any specialsists as result of their condition. Incentives would also be included in hitting certain height/weight proportions, smoking cessation and blood pressure reduction.

For fully funded federal plans, why not incorporate this as well, to the extent possible. In recent work for my MHSA degree I analyzed health care in the US as well as several industrialized countries. If we make it less palatable to continue unhealthy behaviors then over the long run people still can make choices, but they will have to pay for them.

I belive that over the course of the next 10 years, with the appropraite rewards in place, we could see spending on healthcare drop by as much as $1B, have more productive citizens who are healthier and lead a life less filled with serious health issues.
