Executive Office of the President

Instead of using proprietary operating systems Like Microsoft consider going to an Open Database Standard like Ubuntu.

Why continue to pay for proprietary operating systems like Microsoft when open database standard products like Ubuntu are available for free. The government pays millions every year for Microsoft enterprise licenses, for not only its operating system (Windows) but for its Office suite browser etc. All of these products are available in the open database standers arena and all are configured to work with Ubuntu. On top of being a huge expense from a licensing prospective, almost all of the mellitus code written each year is targeted at Microsoft and its products, the government inherits all the risks associated with this mellitus code by virtue of using Microsoft products. Ubunte is safe, secure and “free” and would save at least million possibly billion of dollars every year.
