I will reiterate a suggestion I made last year to reduce all hard copy library materials not only in HUD, but also in all agencies such as U.S. Attorney's Offices, where I worked for 8 years, and every agency throughout the country. We receive an enormous amount of wasted books and subscriptions that are readily available on WestLaw and Lexis/Nexis, which our Government Agencies are already paying for. If we are truly in the digital age and wish to reduce paper and costs, we absolutely need to review the incredible amount of wasted money we are spending on books that sit on our library shelves collecting dust while most of us are using the Internet, Westlaw and Lexis to find the information we need.
