I suggest you...Many other federal and state employers have now instituted ten hour work days to save on energy for the individual (20% savings on fuel) and allow employees a free weekday to schedule needed appointments outside of work without using sick leave. This would not mean the station closes that fifth day, only that not all workers are at all stations every work day. Energy in the offices would be saved as lighting, computers, etc. on the fifth day would be shut down. The concept would allow many offices that close after 8 hours to provide additional worker time for documentation. For those of us "in the trenches" a lot can be accomplished during those hours. And for many of us who have inpatients, our vets are available after 4:30 anyway. This would also improve morale of the work staff.
