Stop wasting so much money on training through external sources. I propose that the Government stand up a new organization that is solely responsible for administering training classes to Federal Employees. I work in the technology field and one week classes are often $2,500 per student through an outside company. All that training company does is provide an instructor, who often does this as a side job, for five days. Sometimes they provide a class room and equipment to work on. I don't see any reason that a central government agency couldn't provide the same kind of training through a virtual classroom from a centralized location to any other government installation that sets up a remote classroom. Individually it might not make sense for any one government agency to currently establish it's own training center. But a central training agency providing service to all government agencies should be feasible and cost effective.
