Increase $2 Bill Usage to Help Move to $1 Coins

The government has tried to shift from $1 bills to $1 coins to save money, but the public doesn't seem to favor this move. I think the shift would be more successful if $1 bills were removed from circulation in favor of $1 coins while simultaneously putting the $2 bill into common circulation.

Eliminate the $1 note and the penny.

The average annual production of $1 notes from 1980 - 2009 was 3.5 billion. The average lifespan of a $1 note is only 21 months. The average lifespan of a coin is 30 years. An April 7, 2000 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report stated that the government seeks to keep roughly 7.5 billion $1 notes in circulation.
