Printers/Copiers

All Printer/Copier ink/toner shall be ordered from one contracted vendor... Look around how much do we waste when the printer brakes and we buy a different model? This could lead into standardizing which models we buy and from whom.... Think if we brake it would you have to look up the vender no, it would be contracted. Parts are easier to get no lost time. Ink/Toner would not be thrown out... It’s a Win Win.. Money saved.... more »

Official Travel

After a recent stint at one of the FLETC, it became blatantly obvious exactly how much in government funds is wasted via the government's contracts with travel agencies such as Sato/GetThere. An attempt to book a flight from New York to Charleston, which included a layover in Georgia, netted the contracted travel agency $1299+ taxes/fees, while a direct flight could have been booked through the airline's website at $180+... more »

Contract Modifications-Task order period of performance extension

many of the contracts I serve a a technical representative on use task orders that have expiration dates. We run into issues of having to extend the Period of performance each time we have a delay, even when the contract it is linked to is still current. This requires a contract modification to be processed which takes time and effort. Allow for a simple email to be sent, or within the contracts system that the full... more »

To properly defend and realize the benefits of trillions of dollars invested in weapon system development, I recommend correcting the Federal Acquisition Regulation System (FARS) deviations from public contract and military procurement data rights statutes. Those FARS deviations make defense and realization of the investment benefits nearly impossible.

The FARS definitions of "computer software" and "computer software... more »

Legislative Branch

Contractors no more!

Terminate or try to reduce the number of contractor positions within the Federal Government. If we reduced the number of positions we contracted out the Government would save money, become more efficient, and build morale by: (1) contract positions cost more then Federal Government positions (and with the proposed health care plan even benefits would be less), (2) former contract employees would no longer be applying... more »

Making COTR More Effective To Prevent Cost Overruns Through Creating A Professional Job Series And Require More Training

Billions of dollars are being spent on cost overruns on government contract due to careless monitoring of contractor performance by Contracting Officer’s Technical Representatives (COTR). I propose that COTRs should have its own professional job series and be required to undergo more extensive training as suppose to their current 40 hours of VERY basic, rudimentary training.
A COTR’s primary responsibility, as delegated... more »
