Reduce personnel costs

Many agencies are staffed ( over staffed ) with attorneys at the GS 13 and higher levels to complete all legal work . Much of this work could be completed by paralegals at the GS 9 to GS 12 level and then reviewed by an attorney for completeness. Much of the legal work in any government office is repetitive and research intensive. With some training a para could do the bulk of it. Why pay GS 14 pay for GS 9 work. instead... more »

Replace all print legal references (statutes, regs, rules, etc.) with tablet computers

Attorneys throughout the government constantly rely on large legal reference books. As a USTP trial attorney, my office alone has the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, the Federal Rules of Civil and Criminal Procedure, the Local Rules of our courts, a Bankruptcy Evidence manual, and other similar texts.
