CLICK TO SAVE BILLIONS: USPS partnership with Sanitation & Recycling Workers

Instead of increasing the postal rate, projected to reach $0.46 in 2011, to compensate for facing a projected $7-billion budget gap, the United States Postal Service should collaborate with sanitation workers in a plan wherein the latter would help deliver mail on the specific day of the week their pick up is scheduled for.
The benefits from such a plan include:

Sell the USPS

Privetize the USPS. Either sell it to workers or in the open market to individuals. Let each unit decide the postal rate, just like what gas stations do. Pepole will go to the least expensive rate station, prices eventually equalize or nearly equalize. let the post office sell snaks, coffee, soft drinks, beer!! what ever The post office as it is now is doomed! why keep pouring money into it.

Why is it that as a Government agency we have a contract with FedEx to ship our lab work overnight to a Government lab when we have the U.S. Postal service that could provide the same service. If the Government as a whole would utilize the agencies that we have at hand it could save millions overall. If we paid the USPS the money paid to FedEx instead, the money would all stay internal which in the long run would lower... more »

Save Fuel/Reduce Federal Expense/Improve Census!

Remove address and location description restrictions from US Code Title 13, so the information can be shared over the Internet/WAN. Currently, the Census Bureau is prohibited from releasing address and location information from it's Master Address Files; which means costly field visits before each Census to bring the Master Address File up-to-date (they hire hundreds of thousands of listers, and pay mileage to them to... more »
