Contractors have too many government vehicles.

At the contractor sites within the Department of Energy, there are too many government vehicles being made available for the use of the contractor. At these sites, it becomes kind of like a game for the employees to get a government vehicle assigned to them for their use. Have all government check stubs sent electronically

Stop sending me check stubs in the the mail! Even my bank emails me my bank statements in password protected pdf files. This would save money in paper and mail delivery costs. I know everyone does not have access to the internet, so you could have the default option set to receive paycheck stubs by email and allow individuals to request that their check be mailed to them.

I suggest you create guidelines for the energy settings on office computers and monitors and, along with the annual property inventories, have every property custodian certify that all computers on his inventory are set-up according to the guidelines. Exceptions would have to be documented and require the approval of the property custodian's supervisor. Such settings can save $75 in electricity cost per computer annually.... more »
