Going Green

1. Change to a four day work week (three days off), to include total 10 hours a day blocked, but only schedule average of 8 hours plus up to 2 additional hours that would cover unforeseen delays due to weather, mechanical, or scheduling issues. This would be a huge moral boost and help eliminate fatigue by the average flying employees and allow for more quality family time. This could be considered “going green” as... more »

Regionalize the Department of Homeland Security. Not only is there a basis for this in law, but it would address a wide range of efficiency and effectiveness issues.
* Create standard interstate DHS Regions, and suggest these be based on the FEMA regions as FEMA has the closest relationships with the states through a number of channels. Co-locate many DHS functions and facilities at the same place or in close proximity,... more »

Passports and Green Cards (Go electronic w/these security updates)

I realize the “make a suggestion” contest phase is over; but this idea is AMAZING. I am suggesting that in every passport issued by the United States, and our allies, be equipped with a locator (similar to the tracker embedded in pets by the human society) woven into the electronic verification information (like the CAC card chip); that will contain all of the individuals pertinent information to include the picture... more »
