An on the job purchase card would not only allow individuals to acquire items that are needed for the job, it can be used for accountability purposes. Often times items are handed out repeately to the same individuals; with others never recieving any. This practice is unfair to everyone. Accountability

Accountability for how US dollars are spent should be at the level of the person making the decision. It is not right for a director to use federal dollars to fund fuel in his personal airplane so that he can maintain his hours for pilot licensure. His job does not require that he fly a plane, especially solo and the waste is unnecessary. Flying commercially would be less expensive, if necessary.

Accountability for illegal actions

Hold people accountable for their actions. Simple and to the point. If you are found guilty of violating the laws or Bureau Policy, you should be held accountable by receiving personal discipline consisting of demotion or personal monetary forfeiture. The practice of promoting people to remove the problem from that particular area only leads to millions spent in the long run dealing with continued problems down the road.... more »
