18 Month Noncompetitive Temporary Promotion

Amend 5 CFR, 335.103(c)(i) and (ii) to increase the noncompetitive temporary promotion or detail to higher graded position to 18 months.

Make promotions competitive

I suggest that career ladders are removed and that all promotions in the federal government be competitive.

Even if 80% of all eligible employees did recieve promotions (though I would advocate a smaller proportion) it would still save the federal government tens of millions of dollars a year. Not to mention the huge increase in productivity that would come from employees eligible for promotion.

Utilize Government Websites better

Our public government websites should be used more effectively by

 

Allowing for advertisements on some websites. This alone would create millions of dollars in revenue. Obviously we would have to have a dislaimer about how the government does not advocate any of the sponsors. But in this present economy and age of online communication it seems to make alot of sense.
